Zest Business Group is working in partnership with a global automotive supplier in order to recruit a Quality Engineer. Reporting directly to the Senior Quality Engineer the role requires the individual to take ownership and responsibility for the product quality, process control, quality standards and related procedures required to ensure blow moulded carcasses and related system assembly are made to meet company and customer expectations.
Key responsibilities;
-To develop and implement the Company's Quality Management system, in accordance with ISO 9001-2000 and TS16949 automotive standards. The approach to quality should be pro-active and complimentary to operational efficiency.
- To develop and implement all elements of APQP activities.
- To assist in the monitoring of supplier performance and, where designated, carry out visits to co-ordinate corrective actions.
- To produce and issue monthly reports covering quality indicators as advised by the Quality Manager.
- To establish and issue Quality acceptance standards in accordance with company and customer expectations.
Qualifications / experience / skills required;
- Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a suitable technical discipline.
- Have an understanding of the processing of plastic materials.
- Have significant quality engineering experience.
- Be flexible and have experience of working in a fast moving automotive environment.
- Be organised to be able to cope with multiple tasks and priorities in a fast moving environment and with a high commitment to quality (to ISO 9001-2000 / TS/ISO 16949 standards).
- Be methodical and able to demonstrate a hands-on approach to technical aspects of Quality.
- Possess and be able to use quality tools such as FTA, MSA, APQP, FMEA, PPAP.
