Zest Business Group is working in partnership with a global leader in the manufacture and supply of heating technologies in order to recruit a Product Introduction Engineer for the UK Quality Assurance team in Preston. The Product Introduction Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that project quality requirements are properly identified, defined, implemented and managed at the supplier during the complete product development process, whilst ensuring robust status feedback is maintained with the projects.
Reporting directly to the New Product Introduction Manager, the Introduction Engineer will provide technical support to the team and take responsibility for proactively improving the quality and reliability of component supply, with an emphasis on electronic components. The role will involve international travel; however, candidates will be ideally based within commutable distance to Preston as 30% of the time will be allocated to the office.
The Product Introduction Engineer must demonstrate all round knowledge of the tools, techniques and applications used in APQP, with experience of implementing and managing activities through the supply chain. A thorough understanding of FMEA, PPAP, component management and supplier improvement processes and techniques is mandatory for a prospective applicant coupled with the ability to identify opportunities and develop actions plans to deliver results is essential along with the ability to positively communicate activities at all levels.
